Frequently Asked Questions
When will I get paid?
Payouts are processed by the merchant on their payout schedule (usually monthly or bi-weekly). Before a commission can be paid, it needs to pass through two stages:
- Hold period — After a sale is made, the commission waits for a hold period (commonly 30 days). This gives time to confirm the sale is legitimate and the customer does not refund.
- Approval — Once the hold period ends, the commission is approved automatically (or reviewed manually by the merchant).
After approval, your commission is included in the next scheduled payout. You can check the status of your commissions and upcoming payouts on the Payouts page in the partner portal.
If your commissions have been approved for a while and you have not received a payout, reach out to the program administrator. Their contact information is available on the program page in the portal.
Why was my commission rejected?
A commission can be rejected for several reasons:
- The customer requested a refund. If the customer refunds their purchase, the commission is reversed.
- Fraudulent or invalid sale. If the sale was flagged as fraudulent (for example, self-referral or duplicate purchase), the commission is rejected.
- Policy violation. If the referral method violated the program terms (for example, misleading advertising), the merchant may reject the commission.
- Manual review decision. Some commissions are flagged for manual review by the merchant. After review, the merchant may decide to reject it.
You can see the reason for rejection in your commission history on the Dashboard or Payouts page. If you believe a commission was rejected in error, contact the program administrator.
How do I change my payout details?
Payout details (such as your bank account or payment method) are managed by the merchant. To update your payout information:
- Contact the program administrator directly. You can find their contact information on the program page in the portal.
- Let them know what needs to change.
- The merchant will update your payout details on their end.
For security reasons, payout detail changes may require verification.
How do I use a promo code?
If you have been assigned a promo code, you can share it with your audience. When a customer enters your promo code at checkout, the sale is tracked back to you, just like a referral link click.
To find your promo codes:
- Log in to the partner portal.
- Go to the Promo Codes page in the sidebar.
- Copy the code you want to share.
Tips for sharing promo codes:
- Mention the code in videos or podcasts where a clickable link is not practical.
- Include it in social media posts or stories.
- Add it to printed materials, presentations, or email signatures.
Promo codes work alongside referral links. You can use both to reach your audience in different ways.
How long does my referral link stay active?
Each program has an attribution window — a time limit between when someone clicks your link and when they need to make a purchase for you to get credit. Common windows are 30, 60, or 90 days.
For example, if the attribution window is 30 days and someone clicks your link today, they need to complete a purchase within the next 30 days for the sale to count as your referral.
Your referral link itself does not expire. Only the attribution window for each individual click has a time limit.
Can I be part of multiple programs?
Yes. If the same company runs multiple affiliate programs (or if you are invited to programs from different companies on the Selgeo platform), you can participate in all of them from the same account. Your dashboard lets you filter stats by program so you can track each one separately.
How do I delete my account?
If you want to leave a program and delete your account:
- Go to Profile in the partner portal.
- Scroll to the bottom and look for the Delete account option.
- Confirm the deletion.
Account deletion is permanent. Your personal data will be erased in accordance with GDPR. Any pending commissions that have not been paid out may be forfeited, depending on the program terms. Approved commissions that are already scheduled for payout will still be processed.
My dashboard shows no data. What is wrong?
If your dashboard is empty, check the following:
- Date range — Make sure the date range selector at the top of the dashboard covers the period when you shared your links. Try expanding the date range.
- Program filter — If you are part of multiple programs, make sure the correct program is selected (or select "All programs").
- Account status — If your application is still being reviewed, you may not have full access yet. Check your email for an approval notification.
- Link activity — If you have not shared any links yet, there will be no clicks or conversions to show. Head to the Links page to get your referral links and start sharing.
Who do I contact for help?
For questions about a specific program (payout schedules, commission rates, program rules), contact the program administrator. Their information is on the program page in the portal.
For technical issues with the partner portal itself (login problems, display errors, missing data), contact Selgeo support.
